Crystal Ball Health
Welcome to Preemie Crystal Ball, a research portal being developed for the preemie community through the lifespan of pregnancy to birth to childhood, adolescence, adulthood and the geriatric years.
Who We Are
Only limited progress has been achieved to prevent preterm births. As a result, we are facing an unprecedented number of “older preemies” living out the legacy of their care.
Crystal Ball Health is working to create a preemie registry that will power the research to provide better patient outcomes – in the NICU, throughout childhood, and into the adult years. This registry, Preemie Crystal Ball, will help develop supportive and integrative care for prematurity-impacted families.
Using this data, we hope to help former premature babies answer questions about their early births and inform their care long after they’ve left the NICU. Crystal Ball Health strives to foster an environment of integrity, respect and responsibility within medical research, and encourage collaboration within the community. Our goal is to engage former preemies in the future of their care.

Why a research portal for this community? With over 15,000,000 premature infants born globally annually – drug, device, therapy and outcomes data for this patient population over the lifespan from pregnancy to adulthood is inadequate due to a lack of a solid registry. Each year there are 14,000,000 premature infants surviving and living to adulthood which has shown numerous comorbidities even in the geriatric years. We need to do better.
